Steel service center management system

Built for a steel service center. Sales, purchasing, warehouse and cutting teams do their work in the same system. In audits for quality certifications such as AS9120, the company shows its records from this system.

Material enters stock with its heat number, and the number stays with the piece after cutting. Quality staff can find which heat any shipped piece came from.

Quotations, orders and pricing

The sales rep prepares the quote in the system. The price is calculated from cost, quantity and payment terms. A quote over the discount limit goes to the manager for approval.

Purchasing and imports

The buyer compares supplier quotes in the system. Import costs are allocated to the cost of the material.

Warehouse and stock management

Every item has a known warehouse, zone and shelf. The warehouse team handles receipts, transfers, counts and shipments on handheld terminals.

Lot and heat number tracking

Every item enters stock with its heat number. Cut pieces and remnants get their own lot numbers and stay linked to the heat number.

Cutting planning

The cutting plan accounts for kerf and rolling direction. Remnants go back into stock, and cutting loss is recorded separately.

Certificates and quality records

Mill certificates are linked to the lot, and a certificate of conformance is prepared at shipment. Quality staff quarantine material that fails receiving inspection and open a nonconformance record.
